Lost Treasures Radio

[ Lost Treasures is down ] Click to listen! Running Icecast version 2.0 beta. Streamed in Ogg Vorbis, 44100 Hz VBR Quality 0 (approx 56kbps) mono.

Lost Treasures serves video game music and video game music remixes.

Lost Treasures is a 100% bona fide Internet pirate radio. Shiver mine peg leg and hoist the Jolly Roger, me asks no permission from land-lubbers! Arr mateys! And a bottle of rum!

The music, however, has been taken from sources that permit free downloading and do not appear to compensate artists in forms other than tons of Free Publicity. Specifically, the music is from Overclocked Remix (which even encourages people to mirror and share the music in P2P networks or web servers!) and RKO. Want to complain? Shoot!

I encourage everyone who listens to this stuff to go to these websites, download the music there, and support the sites.

This radio is up whenever possible. I shut it down when I boot to Windows (duh) and when I'm doing something crazy and processor-intensive, like playing games.

The server runs Icecast 2.0, straming Ogg Vorbis. The stream should be listenable with any self-respecting Ogg player.

The following software has been known to work with this:

I've heard rumors that on MacOSX, Audion works; I know for sure iTunes doesn't work, even with the Ogg Vorbis QT components installed.

The music was formerly jukeboxed by Juggler, a small Perl hack of mine. Now I use separate pre-encoded streams which is streamed normally with ices2.
